Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Registered Nurse with a current unrestricted North Carolina nursing license
Two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse in a position involving direct patient care
Ability to meet clinical requirements including CPR certifications, proof of all required immunizations, and criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at the community college level
Supervisory or leadership experience
Position Description
his position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses which may include clinical and laboratory settings. This position assists with the coordination of all instructional and academic activities within the department across multiple campuses and provides assistance with curriculum/course development.
  Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.  
* Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner; supervises and evaluates student clinical performance
*Teaches clinical or didactic courses in accordance with published course descriptions
* Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance, submits information in accordance with institutional and departmental policies
* Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment; uses laboratory equipment safely and proficiently
* Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
* Communicates with course coordinators regarding clinical needs and placement
* Assists the Department Head to maintain ongoing communications with each affiliating agency to discuss, arrange, and improve clinical rotations/expectation
Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course to include selecting text, constructing a syllabus and
classroom materials that support the goals of the course
Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
Prepares appropriately and thoroughly for each instructional hour as assigned
Maintains regular office hours
Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom
Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
Provides didactic, laboratory, or clinical instruction as needed to fill in for classes due to unexpected adjunct faculty absences
Assists with handling student concerns
Assists with ongoing course development, evaluation, and revision as needed to maintain compliance with accreditation bodies
Requests clinical sites/observation experiences from clinical agencies and makes periodic clinical site visits to assure adequacy of clinical instruction and of the clinical experience
Assists with orientation and registration of students
Assists with collection and analysis of departmental IE assessment data
Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress
Actively participates in faculty committees and department meetings, assisting with planning and serving in leadership
Collaborates with Department Head to adequately budget for equipment, supplies, and professional development needs for the department
Works closely with the HS Non-Degree staff and instructors to ensure effective communication within the department
Serves on college or department committees as needed
Attends professional development opportunities when possible 
Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis...
