Our Houston office is expanding and seeking to add an attorney licensed in Texas a minimum of three years to continue our work in an exciting and collaborative environment.
The position involves the representation of public school districts and other educational institutions in areas of employment, governance, administrative law, and student issues, including civil rights/constitutional law. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent research and writing skills are required. A strong interest or experience in public speaking, strong interpersonal skills, and experience working with school districts or governmental entities is preferred.

Location: Austin, TX

Our Austin office is currently seeking an attorney to join our Facilities and Business team, representing public school districts in connection with construction contracting, real estate transactions, public procurement, and business transactions. Candidates with a background or prior experience in these areas are desired. Strong research and writing skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are required. Public speaking experience is also a plus.

The position involves the representation of public school districts and other educational institutions in areas of labor and employment, governance including Open Meetings Act and Inspection of Public Records Act, administrative law, real estate, construction, business issues, and student issues, including civil rights/constitutional law/disability law. The position involves the representation of public school districts and other educational institutions in areas of immigration and labor and employment law. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent research and writing skills are required. Public speaking experience, strong interpersonal skills, and experience with school districts or other governmental entities is preferred.
As New Mexico public school attorneys, we regularly advise our clients on issues related to the specialized legal rules and doctrines applicable to Indian tribes and Indian Sovereignty, including with respect to children, property matters, and intergovernmental relations. We also work with school districts on compliance with a range of federal and state law, including but not limited to the New Mexico Indian Education Act.
