American Indian/Alaska Native Outreach and Project Coordinator
. This position requires a high degree of initiative, along with strong and creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work as part of a team. This is a grant funded position and part of the FMRWM’s initiatives to serve and train residents in populations at high-risk and underserved, including racial and ethnic minority populations and rural communities. This position relies heavily on the ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships internally and with community organizations. This position requires traveling; including some overnight travel will be required. Working collaboratively with the FMRWM Program Director, Rural Director, and administrative team, this position will:
Serve as a liaison between tribal partners and the FMRWM through coordination of site visits, training projects and scholarship efforts;
Assist in development and coordination of the AI/AN Focus Path including rotational coordination at AI/AN sites, AI/AN elective coordination, cultural humility curriculum, and scholarly activity;
Assist with annual resident recruitment efforts and faculty recruitment efforts as needed specifically focused on AI/AN populations;
Assist with outreach to medical students who identify as AI/AN or other underrepresented population;
Coordination with Consortium of Urban Indian Health Centers, AI/AN organizations at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., and other state organizations.
Provide administrative support for the Regional Workforce Development Hub, sponsored by AAIP (Assn of Amer Ind Physicians), and AAMC (Assn of Amer Med Colleges);
Serve as a member of the FMRWM’s Residency Equity, Antiracism, and Cultural Humility (REACH) Committee and PHC’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) committee to further guide the organizations efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion;
Assist with development and coordination of the FMRWM’s cultural humility curriculum offered annually through resident didactics, the Introduction to Family Medicine rotation, and the Community and Culture retreat;
Assist with development and coordination of program faculty development sessions focused on cultural humility and health disparities;
Assist with development and coordination of clinical faculty development focused on cultural humility and health disparities offered annually at the Rural Retreat and rural site visits.

Position Details
Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, Letter of Appointment and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package

Salary for this position will range from $50,000 to $60,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications.
Required Skills & Experience
Knowledge of public health, healthcare education, healthcare systems and programs.
Knowledge of social determinants of health and health equity.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to coordinate and facilitate large groups.

Experience working with individuals from indigenous backgrounds.
Experience using social networking platforms, including Zoom and Teams.
Proficiency with computer skills, including MS Office.
Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data using tools.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or a combination of education and experience in a relevant field.
A valid driver’s license in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in public health, healthcare, and/or education preferred.
Experience working with American Indian and Alaska Native populations.
One to two (1-2) years of experience in program coordination and implementation.
