Description:
The University’s Research and Innovation Directorate (R&I) is looking for an experienced Research Funding Manager to join our Research & Commercialisation Office, to provide support to University academics and researchers in securing research funding. R&I plays a crucial role in supporting the University to secure funding for research across a diverse range of disciplines from the creative arts to medicine. We work closely with academics and support the creation of impactful relationships between them and external organisations. This role has a particular focus on supporting our health researchers, providing support for a range of research funding sources including UK Research and Innovation, European Framework Programmes, various charities and trusts and other national and international research funders. The role sits within a wider team that also targets non-traditional forms of funding and supports the commercialisation of Intellectual Property. We are looking for an experienced, creative and enthusiastic individual to join our team with a demonstrable track record of working on successful funding applications, particularly in a Higher Education context. Experience of the development of collaborative applications involving internal and external partners and stakeholders is desirable. You will ideally have a background in Higher Education or Research Councils, although wider experience will be considered, and a demonstrable ability to engage partners from a range of different sectors. Exceptional communication skills are also essential, in particular the ability to take complex ideas and information and present them in a way that is accessible and exciting for different audiences. Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement. For an informal discussion to find out more about the role then please contact Susan Eick by email at **** Interviews are likely to take place week commencing Monday 22 May 2023 and you will be notified if you have been shortlisted or not.
