Job Description:
Assumption University invites applicants to apply for the many adjunct clinical instructor positions available. All specialties will be considered. The overarching responsibility of each adjunct position is to assume responsibility for the clinical education of the assigned student group(s) in the healthcare agency. Rotations are available seven days a week with shifts scheduled between the hours of 7am and 11pm.
Requirements:
Specific criteria for this position include:
1. An unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nurse license;
2. A minimum of a Master's of Science in Nursing degree;
3. A minimum of two years full-time, or the equivalent, within the last five years, and clinical competence in the area of clinical instruction;
4. Commitment to the Mission and Vision of Assumption University and the Froelich School of Nursing;
5. Knowledge of Massachusetts and federal regulations governing nursing practice, including nursing education;
6. Commitment to the integration of technology in the clinical setting;
7. Competency in software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 software, Apple iPad software and available apps.
Each faculty member in the Froelich School of Nursing is responsible for:
1. Contributing to the professional learning environment;
2. Encouraging student learning and retention, consistent with the SLOs and course objectives;
3. Nurturing an environment focused on providing the highest quality of care to patients;
4. Evaluating student acquisition of nursing competence;
5. Demonstrating continued professional development in the areas of nursing and nursing education commensurate with assigned roles;
6. Collaborating with healthcare partners in Worcester and the surrounding areas;
7. Complying with the policies outlined in the Assumption University Faculty Policy Document and the Assumption Nursing Froelich School of Nursing Faculty Handbook.
8. Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.
