Employee & Volunteer Health, Wellness, & Education Coordinator','Full-time','Nursing - RN','7:30-4:00','7:30-4:00','80','80','None','None','IOWA-NEWTON-SKIFF MEDICAL CENTER','','!*!POSITION SUMMARY:  The registered nurse would provide employee health professional care for employees, volunteers, students, agency staff and credentialed physicians.  Responsible for managing workers compensation program and CHI Wellness Program. In addition, the individual would  coordinate and monitor compliance for mandatory education, certifications and licensure across the organization through the CHI Learn module. The employee would also act as the primary point of contact for volunteer onboarding. He/She will coordinate, consult and collaborate care with other disciplines on behalf of the employees under the guidance of the Mercy Employee Health program.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Oversight & clearance of pre-employment screenings for new employees, volunteers, students, agency staff and credentialed physicians.
Active implementation and promotion of organizational wellness program.
Coordinates student rotations.
Monitors educational, licensure and certification compliance for employees, volunteers and contracted agencies.
Works collaboratively with Mercy Employee Health on all matters
Manages worker & volunteer population care from onset of injury/illness to safe return-to-work or an optimal alternative. Includes collaboration and frequent communication with Worker’s Compensation program carrier.
Collaborates, consults and promotes worker health by focusing on prevention, protection, and restoration of the employee.
Verifies that practices, policies, procedures and programs comply with Federal, State and Local, and Worker’s Compensation laws, rules, regulation and guidelines, including the OHSA log.
Plans, develops and manages health surveillance and employee education programs to facilitate positive health behavior change.
Utilize epidemiological methods to define and monitor the health and safety needs of employees.
Maintains proficiency in performing all testing and use of equipment.
Attends Environment of Care and other like meetings. Presents data relevant to this role at Infection Control meetings.  Other meetings as appropriate to the scope of the work. 
Completes timely, accurate and complete documentation as required for departmental records.
Handles administrative and personnel information through strict confidentiality, protects the reputation and integrity of others and demonstrates a high level of trust.
Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and continuing education.','!*!QUALIFICATIONS: 

Understands and is able to apply nursing process while meeting established Nursing Standards.
Interacts collaboratively and professionally with outside agencies and companies on behalf of Skiff and Mercy Medical Center.
Efficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office tools.
Skilled in meeting the emotional and developmental needs of the adult population.

Demonstrates professional attitude and interest in work by exhibiting strong, independent work habits and behavior.

Demonstrates ability to establish priorities and organize effectively.
Demonstrates highly skilled commitment to customer service.
Demonstrates ability to stay current in new federal, state and local guidelines and regulations.  
EDUCATION:  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  BSN preferred.
  
EXPERIENCE:  Nursing experience in Hospital based Employee Health preferred.  Previous knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations, Worker’s Compensation law and infection control preferred.
 
LICENSURE:

Curent license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Iowa is required.
Holds and maintains current CPR certification.
