Faculty Physician - Advanced Gastroenterologist The Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, at the University of Minnesota is seeking a board certified/eligible Advanced Gastroenterology who is clinically and academically focused on bariatric medicine and related endoscopic interventions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank on an academic track (specific track to be determined by qualifications and interest). Position Highlights: We currently have five expert advanced endoscopists, each with their own academic interests including complex pancreas and biliary diseases, third space endoscopy, technique and device innovation and therapeutic luminal interventions. The ideal candidate will have excellent advanced endoscopy skills including endoscopic suturing and a focused clinical and academic interest in medical management of obesity and bariatric endoscopy. This position will work closely with our nationally recognized, NIH funded minimally invasive surgical group to improve the care of our bariatric population. EUS and ERCP skills will be utilized with opportunities to grow the practice in community settings. It is expected that an applicant will have completed their training with a strong record of clinical service, clinical research and teaching. In addition, the candidate is expected to have demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams, and engage in national GI professional societies, as well as have a publication record to portend strong academic potential. We are a forward-looking division, which adopts the roles of Nutrition and GI Health Psychology in providing care for our patients as well as developing research programs in these aspects of gastroenterology practice. We believe in team science and collaboration with basic researchers across our large University. We offer academic tertiary care with established fellowships in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Advanced Endoscopy and Hepatology fellowships.
