Responsibilities: Develops and implements appropriate lesson plans incorporating interdisciplinary goals/objectives from the students' I.E.P. Co-ordinates classroom staff duties in regard to gymnasium activities according to program policies. Implements and monitors any established behavior management plans/techniques when necessary. Establishes and maintains data collection systems. Develops, communicates and adheres to a daily schedule making daily modifications and adjustments as required. Maintains communications with all classroom teams, parents and program directors regarding students' performance as necessary. Maintains a positive and accepting classroom environment for the students. Reinforces appropriate student behavior by utilizing progressive discipline techniques. Establishes, communicates and monitors clear expectations for both students and classroom staff. Establishes a schedule with the teacher assistant for attendance at all weekly team meetings on a regular basis. Provides for and monitors the supervision and safety of students at all times. Monitors the safety of the equipment used in the P.E. program and notifies the appropriate personnel when equipment is in need of repair or stolen. Establishes and adheres to a schedule for maintaining the cleanliness of the P.E. storage room. Reviews and implements established curricula. Participates in Dining Assignments as assigned by the Clinical Assistant Director of the Speech Department.
