Job Description:
A full-time, year-round grant-funded* position responsible for maintaining and monitoring data entry of Farmworker Career Development Program participants to ensure compliance with Florida Department of Education guidelines for the grant and provide support services to the program staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the case files onsite and on appropriate databases for all participants involved in SFSC's Farmworker Career Development Program.
Maintains the program's social media pages.
Processes payroll for participant stipends.
Conducts quarterly follow-ups on participants place in employment.
Assists participants with resumes, mock interviews and other career preparatory activities.
Assists in the enforcement of program regulations and ensures deadlines are met to reporting agencies as required by grant guidelines.
Provides clerical support to Farmworker Career Development Program staff and administration, including, but not limited: word processing, spreadsheet applications, PowerPoint presentations, copying, collating, and filing.
Participates in the planning and scheduling of recruitment events and orientations.
Maintains and keeps inventory of participant and staff supplies for program.
Runs monthly reports using EmployFlorida.
Participates in the planning and instructing of participant workshops for program as needed.
Acts as initial contact for potential participants seeking information about Farmworker Career Development Program at the Highlands Campus.
Prepares participant payroll and distributes stipend checks.
Maintains a cordial attitude to all SFSC staff, students, potential students, and the community.
Directs visitors and phone calls to the appropriate staff member.
Maintains confidentiality of all information.
Provides direction and guidance to SFSC work study students when assigned.
Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.
Acts in accordance with College policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
*Continuation of this position is contingent upon continued grant funding.
Requirements:
Educational:
Associate degree preferred.
Experiential:
Three years secretarial, clerical, or data processing experience preferred.
Other:
Ability to type proficiently required. Exceptional word processing and spreadsheets computer skills required. Experience with database, desktop publishing, and PowerPoint strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse groups required. Must obtain Tier 1 credentialing within first 90 days of employment.
