Salary & Benefits: Starting salary is based on the competency level and experience of the employee. The minimum salary, as defined in the career path matrix of the Salary Schedule for the developmental level is $47,561 and is $52,317 for the proficient level. Salaries may be offered up to 20% above the minimum for experience and/or education in excess of the minimum qualifications. Location: Northwest Campus, 3000 NW 83rd Street, Building K

The Senior Network/Computer Specialist administers VMware and VDI for all Campus Computer Labs and Classrooms. This positional also manages Microsoft Active Directory, virtual server systems.

Responsibilities and duties include:
• Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Horizon View in an Enterprise Setting.
• Architects, designs, and implements new VDI initiatives in VMware Horizon.
• Troubleshoot and support DEM, App Volumes, and complex end user issues within a VDI environment.
• Proficient use with monitoring tools and applications, specifically as it relates to VMware vSphere and Horizon View. (Ex. vROps)
• Performs activities that support user needs, including determining user rights & levels, conducting compatibility testing for new equipment, making system updates/ upgrades, troubleshooting systems equipment & connectivity issues, and scheduling & testing of update packages. Creating and maintenance of Virtual Images.
• Proven experience with software packaging and deployment. (SCCM/MECM)
• Implements Active Directory and Group Policy modifications
• Writes and maintains system documentation.
• Participates in special projects as needed in the Systems and Networking Services groups.
• Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Manager, Systems and Datacenter
Job Requirements:
Required: Associate degree in Information Technology or related field and 3 years of previous, progressive, related experience or at least 5 years of completed education and related experienced is required. Experience with following programs and tools are required:
• VMware Horizon View, DEM, App Volumes, vSphere, ESXi, SCCM, JAMF
• RSAT: Active Directory, Group Policy Management.
• Servers for Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager.
• Current scripting technologies and ability to write scripts using PowerShell and other automation services.
• MacOS and Windows Desktop Operating Systems.

Preferred: Microsoft or VMware certifications are preferred.
• VMware Certified Professional – Desktop Management 2021 (VCP-DTM 2021)
• VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Desktop Management Design 2021 (VCAP-DTM Design 2021)
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Virtual Desktop Specialty
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

Other: A criminal background check will be conducted.
