An exciting opportunity is available for a driven and resilient individual to join the professional services department of the Peninsula Dental School, one of England's top Dental Schools, and proactively facilitate the development of outstanding Dentists/Dental Hygienists of the future. You will contribute to the delivery of a customer focused, efficient and effective administrative support service for the Bachelor Dental Surgery (BDS) and Bachelor of Science Dental Therapy and Hygiene (DTH) programmes primarily but will also provide ad hoc support to the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SNAMs). Each team member seeks to enhance the student and stakeholder experience throughout their time with the University of Plymouth. Programme administration duties will support the BDS and DTH programmes, with particular reference to supporting academic staff with curriculum delivery, assessments, and supporting students on the programme. This will include maintaining student records and assessment data; helping resolve assessment issues; attending, organising and minuting meetings; updating programme documents and providing programme data as required. This is an opportunity to engage with students and support them whilst at the University, playing a key role in facilitating their journey; effectively communicating with students, academics, clinicians and colleagues. The role will provide support to the Programme Administrators in addition to opportunities to provide support across the teams. You will have experience operating effectively as a member of an administrative team within a customer service environment. A flexible and resilient attitude in an ever-changing and challenging environment will be vital. You will need organisation skills, excellent IT skills (including spreadsheets and databases), the ability to be pragmatic and proactively solution-focused to seek resolutions to problems and have the ability to work within tight deadlines. Good communication skills, minute taking, teamwork and data reporting are also essential. Experience working in a medical or education function/environment (or equivalent) would be desirable. The role will be based at the student-facing Faculty Office in the Knowledge Spa based in Treliske Hospital (Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust), although occasionally travel to other sites (primarily Plymouth, Main Campus or Derriford) will be required. The office is shared between staff supporting Schools across the Faculty.
