Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under limited supervision, performs administrative, record keeping, educational, and technical work in instructing students in the classroom setting. Work involves preparing and delivering lectures within the appropriate department; maintaining appropriate accreditations for all programs; preparing, administering, and grading periodic tests for all courses; maintaining records of student attendance as required by the Community College System, as well as maintaining documents as needed for enrollment of students and accreditation. Instructor will also offer assistance to students outside of class time, as well as an academic advisor to students and on committees, a assigned or needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Teach of History related courses and and their associated labs; preparation, administration and grade periodic test, exams, essays, or assignments, as well a program assessment data; maintaining records of student attendance as required by BCC.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in History or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in History
Demonstrate excellent oral & written communication skills
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with students
PREFERRED:
Teaching experience at the Community College level
Experience with classroom technology
Experience with outcome and program assessment
Ability to use Microsoft office, Office 365, Moodle and Internet
