ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Central Human Resources Office provides university-wide strategic development of policies, procedures, and programs for the core HR functions, which includes the main campus in Tampa, USF Health and the branch campuses in St. Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee. DHR supports the goals, vision, and mission of USF, with a focus on delivering valuable, innovative, and compliant services that attract, develop, reward, and retain highly qualified individuals to create a diverse and talented workforce. Services and programs provided by DHR include: Benefits; Classification & Compensation; Employee Relations; Labor Relations; Talent Acquisition; Strategic Planning; Staff Recognition; Compliance; and Learning and Talent Development.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Analyst applies knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data within PeopleSoft or other HCM system. Interprets data and makes recommendations on best practices for data processing to colleges, departments and units. Researches and interprets factual information; Identifies inconsistencies in data or results and makes corrections as needed. Utilizes HCM system to create custom queries to support the business needs of the University.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews, monitors and audits employment transactions through the Manager's Self Service (MSS) function within PeopleSoft or other HCM system; identifies inconsistencies in data or results and makes corrections as needed; ensures employment change requirements are met prior to entry. Maintains and uploads documentation for employee changes into AppXtender or other digital document imaging software.
Develops queries, reports, and forms using PeopleSoft Query, Query Scheduler, Form Builder, BI Publisher, and SQL. Reviews and monitors audit/error reports to ensure data integrity within the PeopleSoft HCM system and 3rd party vendors. Creates and maintains processes and procedures; performs periodic audits; responds to information requests from various colleges on campus, comply with State reporting requirements; and monitors changes to ensure compliance with federal, state or University requirements. Uses Access, Excel, PowerPoint to create presentation quality reports in user friendly formats.
Works in conjunction with IT, functional areas, and other departments on new initiatives and projects, through testing, implementation and training, ensuring system concerns and needs are addressed. Collaborates with users to review processes, analyze risks, and ensure best practices when determining solutions; providing competent functional expertise, support, and guidance with analysis and problem solving of complex needs to colleges, departments and units.
Maintains the set-up tables within MSS for roles, access and configuration;researches and resolves workflow and delegation issues within MSS; provides support and problem resolution for the university community for areas assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and two years of HR related experience; or Master's degree in an area of specialization appropriate for the program. Six years of HR-related experience or a combination of education and experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
PREFERRED:
Master's degree in a related field of study to the specific functional area. Knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM version 9.0 or higher and two (2) years of experience using Oracle SQL or other related query tools to query large and complex databases: (PeopleSoft Query, XML, SQL). Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Software (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Preferred candidates will have experience in data analysis within the field of Human Resources, knowledge of query tools to extract data within PeopleSoft, Oracle Cloud or other HR system, experience in troubleshooting system delegation and workflow issues as well as maintaining data integrity of incoming and outgoing employee data.
