We are looking to recruit a Research Assistant with a profile in agri-robotics to join our growing research team. The successful candidate will be employed within the Lincoln AgriRobotics Centre as part of the DigiFoods – Digital Food Quality project which looks at the potential of robotics to improve food production. The candidate will integrate and conduct interactive demonstrations for the general public using our agricultural robots operating in real farming environments.
We are looking to recruit a candidate with relevant experience and/or a strong interest in research areas such as mobile robotics, robot programming and robot perception. You must have excellent mathematical and coding skills (C /Python) and prior practical experience with related software packages (e.g. ROS, OpenCV, PyTorch). Evidence of the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, including excellent communication skills is also required. Candidates should possess a very good honours degree or Masters in Computer Science or a related discipline.
You will have access to state-of-the-art research farms equipped with industrial standard fruit production facilities, as well as agricultural robots with advanced sensors and tools. Through close collaboration with industry and academic partners, you will be embedded in an international consortium, with excellent opportunities to develop practical research skills in robotics while being engaged in impactful and exciting research projects solving real-world problems.
