We are inviting applications to join the Social Work team at the University of Plymouth and be part of its research, teaching, and practice education. Social Work at Plymouth offers educational programmes leading to application for registration with Social Work England. Our BA (Hons) Social Work is currently rated as seventeenth in England according to the ‘Complete University Guide’. We are therefore seeking dynamic individuals with a passion for social work, to support and inspire the next generation of social work professionals. To strengthen our research and teaching portfolio further, the School for Health Professions are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Social Work with a strong research and publication profile, and potential for gaining external funding and providing post-graduate supervision. We welcome applications from those with a PhD or equivalent body of work who are also willing to register with Social Work England from any social work background. We are particularly interested in someone with quantitative skills, though it is not an essential criterion. You will work as part of the Social Work team to provide leadership in research, teaching and offer high quality innovative support, teaching and research on our social work programmes. The focus of this role will be on research but this will also include where appropriate supporting students on placement and contributing to the design and preparation of teaching materials, course planning, delivery and assessment. We are looking for individuals who will be able to make a contribution to research informed practice. Registration with Social Work England is essential.
