The post holder is responsible for teaching, marking and supervision, primarily focused at postgraduate taught level on the MSc in Sustainability, Enterprise and the Environment (MSc SEE).  The successful candidate will work closely with the Course Director.  The MSc SSE aims to address two pervasive and unmet challenges of our time: making the transition to a zero-carbon and environmentally sustainable economic model, whilst simultaneously improving the quality of life for the world’s least advantaged people.
You will have expertise in fields relevant to SSEE’s mission, preferably entrepreneurship, strategy and organisation, and/or management and leadership.  The following subject areas  will also be considered: environmental economics; corporate social responsibility/sustainable enterprise; circular economy; finance and/or accounting; environmental governance; biodiversity conservation and ecosystem services.  In addition, you will have experience in researching and/or teaching in one or more of the following contextual domains and associated sustainability issues: food; water; plastics; energy; cities and urban environments; fashion and textiles; non-renewable resources; renewable resources.
To undertake this role you will need, or be close to completing, a PhD/DPhil in a field relevant to sustainability, enterprise and the environment.  You will have a publication record commensurate with career stage, and familiarity with the existing literature and research in the relevant field. You will also need to demonstrate an awareness of pedagogic methods and the ability to be an effective teacher of graduate students of high ability by lecturing at an appropriate level in an interesting and engaging manner; supervising MSc and MPhil dissertations; undertaking student assessments and examinations; and engaging with MSc students with diverse backgrounds including those with critical perspectives on the role of private enterprise You will display evidence of sufficient depth and breadth of knowledge in the subject to develop new course materials and you will have experience of, and an aptitude for supporting individual students in making the most of their studies, preferably at Masters level.
Applications are particularly welcome and encouraged from women, black, and minority ethnic candidates, who are under-represented in posts in SoGE. SoGE and SSEE are committed to equality and value diversity.
The post is full-time for 5 years in the first instance.  Part-time/flexible working options will be considered
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 1 April 2022, and interviews are likely to be held in mid-April.
