Job Description:
Assumption University invites applications for a full-time Professor of Practice in Education with a Specialization in Science Education to start in the fall 2022. This position will include responsibilities in teaching, advising, and service, as well as willingness to support departmental efforts in curriculum review, program development, and approval.

* An advanced degree in an area related to the specialization: science education and/or STEM education.
* Established expertise in current models of and approaches to science pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment.
* Familiarity with MA STE learning standards.
* Willingness and ability to supervise teacher candidates in their field placements.
* Willingness to contribute actively to the mission of the university as well as showing respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University. Preferred Qualifications:
* Ph.D. or Ed.D. in science education or related field.
* Teaching license in one (or more) of the following: grades 1-6, General Science 1-6, 5-8, Biology 8-12 or Chemistry 8-12.
* A minimum of three years of teaching experience in grades 1-6, 5-8, or 8-12, with experience teaching science.
* Experience mentoring and supervising in-service and/or pre-service teachers.
* Experience teaching college level education courses.
