0.4FTE (2 days per week) providing service to two colleges.
NOSCS was founded in 2017, consists of and is owned by four Oxford Colleges (Lady Margaret Hall, St Antony’s College, St Hugh’s College and Wolfson College) and provides shared services where siloed services might otherwise not benefit the Colleges and their staff.
We are recruiting a Data Protection Officer Assistant to join our team who is passionate about data protection. Reporting to the Head of IT who acts as the Data Protection Officer for some of NOSCS colleges, the Assistant Data Protection Officer (ADPO) will support the practical implementation of data protection legislation. Lady Margaret Hall and St Antony’s College have vibrant and interesting communities within which to work. This role can operate both on site and remotely, depending on the person, with the expectation that they will be occasionally required to attend site for some aspects of the role.
The DPO is responsible for monitoring College data protection compliance, advising on data protection obligations and leading annual audits. The DPO provides advice on Data Protection Impact Assessments, monitoring their performance and acts as a contact point for data subjects and the ICO. As such, the DPO should not be involved in the day to day operations of data protection in the Colleges. Although the primary responsibility for compliance is with Estates Bursars and departmental heads, the ADPO provides support to the Estates Bursars and departmental heads for the Colleges and manages the centralised administration of the office.
