JOB OVERVIEW
On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member's primary academic function includes teaching a specified course in the Dr. Edward N. Prather Summer Bridge Scholars Program. As part of the agreement, there will be specific outlined administrative and programmatic duties in regards to the program. Instructors must inform Ms. Krizia Cabrera-Toro & Ms. Eunique Avery every Tuesday about the students' academic progression, behavior or failure to comply with issues in your classroom. Immediately contact Ms. Krizia Cabrera-Toro & Ms. Eunique Avery if you need to remove a student from your classroom for disciplinary reasons.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Create a Course Syllabus with Learning Outcomes. *Assess students mid-program, and at the end of the program for academic progress. *Attend Spring Semester pre-program meetings. *Attend the program orientations. *Attend all summer weekly bridge staff meetings prepared to report on student academic progress. *Submit names for Most Improved, Best Effort and NIA (Overall) awards by specified date. *Attend the Summer Bridge program closing event. *Attend post-program review meeting.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
*Academic degree in an appropriate disciple and prior teaching experience. *Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject. *Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
