The Assistant Provost of Partnerships and Dean of Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) reports to the Provost and works closely with the Assistant and Associate Provosts and is responsible for both the development and implementation of the vision for Continuing Education, which shall include expansion of online programming, development of programmatic offerings offsite, creation of strategic domestic and international partnerships, and optimization of our summer offerings with expected growth. The Assistant Provost and Dean of CEPS is responsible for strategic program development, college support in program delivery, faculty relations, and marketing and budget oversight.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Build innovative offerings and a continuing education strategic plan to engage partners within the University and outside the University. Research and identify new opportunities with potential for growth of auxiliary revenue sources.
-Engage with national and international groups monitoring current trends in continuing education. Engagement will be demonstrated by presentation and participation in multi-institutional programs and conferences.
2. Embrace Seton Hall commitment to serving and to being enriched by local, national, and global communities.
-Work with others to form innovative partnerships and collaborations both internally and externally with enhanced access for all students to these programs to enrich academic outcomes and professional lives.
-Encourage, advocate for, and develop targeted program offerings for nontraditional learners in higher education, resulting in increased enrollments with CEPS of nontraditional students or the development of completion pathways.
-Leverage technology and other resources to enhance the effectiveness of online courses and distance learning while also developing in-person offerings.
-Support and grow both onsite and offsite programmatic offerings.
3. Work with the Dean’s Council, retreats, etc. and supervise assistant dean and any future employees who may be recruited as corporate and non-credit certificates expand, while working with department chairs, program directors, and instructors to develop, implement, and grow the program portfolio.
-Collaborate effectively with faculty and staff to provide strong and growing programmatic offerings. These collaborations will be deemed successful when they develop, implement, and grow programmatic offerings that target academic and corporate audiences.
4. Increase corporate relationships with a targeted increase in programs offered through CEPS, including certificate programs that would lead to matriculated students at the University, and the creation of credit-bearing initiatives where appropriate, in collaboration with Schools/Colleges.
-Encourage collaboration across units by developing a clearly defined contract for partnerships and collaborations, which may include approved models for revenue-sharing.
5. Effectively oversee budget development, establish and maintain contacts with different academic units, and allocate resources.

Required Qualifications:
o An earned terminal degree as well as a distinguished academic record and evidence of successful teaching, service, and research.
o To effectively work on programmatic initiatives, we seek a current or former faculty member. This person should be either a tenured faculty member, a previously tenured faculty member, or have commensurate teaching experience and evidence of scholarship activity and service.
o Demonstrated interest in current trends in continuing education.

5-8 relevant work experience in higher education.
Desired Qualifications:
Doctoral degree
At least ten years of experience in higher education at increasing levels. Alternatively, similar experience in industry/non-profit organizations in training and corporate professional development functions can be considered. Experience developing new academic programs, engaging new markets, and growing course offerings.
o Experience using a range of delivery methods to create, support, and sustain continuing education programs and other academic programs.
o Demonstrated success in strategic planning, budget management, and needs assessment.
