Minimum Qualifications
Associate in Applied Science degree in a health-related area from a regionally accredited institution; certification/licensure in a non-credit health science program; Minimum five years’ work experience in the field; minimum three years’ work experience in community college education
Minimum Documentation: Official transcripts from a regionally accredited institution, copy of current license, and resume
Familiar with criteria to establish student training at clinical affiliates.
Knowledge of accreditation or approval of health science programs.
Excellent organizational and administrative duties.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule to include some nights and weekends.
Knowledge of using learning management systems to facilitate student learning
Knowledge of workforce development continuing education policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree from a regionally accredited institution in a health-related field and minimum 5 years work management/supervisory experience in health care education
Position Description
Program Coordinators are professional educators with the primary responsibility of providing administrative leadership for assigned allied health non-credit programs and providing a quality learning experience for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. students in their respective programs. Program Coordinators are responsible for but are not limited to planning, organizing, promoting, and teaching appropriate courses for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. Program Coordinators are expected to perform all coordination and instruction-related duties in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the College, the North Carolina Community College System, and with appropriate accrediting entities where applicable. Program Coordinators are also responsible for providing placement, advising, follow-up support services and performing other duties as assigned.
Under the supervision of the Dean for Health Sciences and Public Services Technologies, the program coordinator will coordinate non-credit health science programs that educate and train students for skills, knowledge and behaviors to support successful entry into the workplace. Currently, the College offers the following health science non-credit programs: Central Sterile Processing, EKG Technician, Nurse Aide, Phlebotomy and Pharmacy Technology. However, additional non-credit allied health programs need to be developed.
