The
Bitterroot College
invites applications for a
Temporary Nurse Aide Instructor
to be part of the
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Program
. This position instructs non-college credit students enrolled in the Bitterroot College Continuing Education Certified Nurse Aide program. The Temporary Nurse Aide Instructor delivers established CNA curriculum in didactic and/or clinical settings. This position is part-time, based on seasonal program offerings (fall, spring, and summer). This position is for the college's October 2 - November 2021 CNA program.
Each CNA program offering lasts for five weeks (40 hours of clinical instruction; 50 hours of didactic instruction). Didactic instruction is 10 hours per week for five weeks (two week-day evenings and Saturday). Clinical instruction is 8 or 12 hour per week for four weeks (Sundays). All hours are dependent on program enrollment and may be cancelled due to insufficient program enrollment. Position may be hired to instruct didactic only, clinical only, or didactic and clinical.
Required Skills
Knowledge of best practices in healthcare didactic and/or clinical instruction
Knowledge of certified nurse aide professional roles and responsibilities
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Sufficient information technology skills for instruction and communication, i.e., use of MS
PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, internet, email, and Zoom
Ability to work in a collaborative and changing environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Ability to troubleshoot curriculum and evolve curriculum content and implementation to continually improve student outcomes.

Minimum Required Experience
For Clinical Instruction
Registered Nurse (RN) or Practical Nurse (LPN); currently licensed in Montana
Minimum of two years of nursing experience
One year of nursing experience in the provision of long-term care services
Completion of a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising aides
For Didactic Instruction
At least one year of experience in topics covered by nurse aide curriculum
Completion of a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising aides
