Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University of Plymouth Faculty of Health as an Assessment Administrator. Supporting the delivery of assessments for the medical and dental schools, you will preferably have prior knowledge of university regulations and processes or assessment provision. The Assessment team are vital for providing support in arranging and delivering assessments throughout the academic year. The student experience is of the upmost priority, with the team delivering a high level of customer service, in line with academic regulations and processes. You will work closely with senior academic staff and colleagues within the Peninsula Medical and Dental schools, and University Professional Services. Under the guidance of the Senior Assessment Administrator and as a member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery and continuous development of a customer focused, cost effective and efficient administrative support service. Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment, you will be required to work closely with the team and provide line management. You will have excellent communication and networking skills, and the ability to quickly build relationships with colleagues both internally and externally to the university. You will also provide administrative support during assessments, problem solving and following the direction of senior university staff to respond quickly to any issues that may arise. Key activities and responsibilities will include supporting assessment meetings, data reporting and set up of assessments, which will require the use of specialist programme-specific systems. The support of these activities within the team will require you to have the ability to prioritise your own workload and assist in prioritising the workload of others. You will need to have experience of operating effectively as a key member of an administrative team within a customer service environment. A flexible, proactive and resilient attitude in an ever-changing environment will be vital, alongside organisation skills, excellent IT skills (including spreadsheets and databases), the ability to work proactively and within tight deadlines. Good communication skills and teamwork are essential. Experience working in a medical, dental or education function/environment (or equivalent) would be desirable. This position will mainly be based between the John Bull building but will also offer support across sites during assessments. Occasional travel to our Torbay, Truro and Taunton sites and other locations may be required to support the activities of the team. There is therefore an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport.
