The College of Medicine Medical Sciences Baccalaureate Program is seeking an Educational Adviser for the following:
Essential Function: Under general supervision from a designated administrator, will facilitate experiential learning opportunities for students.
Primary Duties:
*Provide support and guidance to students on experiential learning matters, including research, clinical shadowing, and community service; *Advise students on targeted experiential learning opportunities and benefits; *Develop and teach professional development workshops (e.g.: professionalism, expectations, processes/policies); *Maintain records of student experiential learning experiences and prepare related reports; *Develop strategies cultivating the establishment of partnerships with health-related organizations in the tri-state area to develop community service opportunities for students; *Cultivate relationships with faculty and researchers resulting in placement of students in basic, translational, and clinical research opportunities; *Secure clinical shadowing opportunities for students with healthcare professionals in a wide range of settings; Coordinate effort to create standard operating procedures for clinical shadowing at University of Cincinnati Medical Center; *Perform related duties based on Program need. *Cross-train on academic advising as a backup.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree with one (1) year experience -OR- Associate's degree with three (3) years experience -OR- five (5) years experience. Experience must be in educational advising in a hospital setting.
