JOB OVERVIEW
As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients.
The Office of Graduate Education in the College of Medicine is currently seeking five (5) PREP Scholars, Visiting Scholars. PREP Scholars will be academically able individuals from an underrepresented population (racial, ethnic, economically disadvantaged or disabled, as defined in NOT-OD-20-031 Notice of NIH's interest in diversity) and who are US citizens or permanent residents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties will include:
*Performing mentored research in the lab of a designated PREP faculty research mentor (75% FTE), *Participation in classes, workshops and mentoring activities (25% FTE).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have received a baccalaureate degree in a biomedically relevant subject within 36 months of applying for the position/admittance to the PREP program.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
Strong interest in entering a PhD program upon completion of their PREP training.
