PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1.     Participates in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures as related to the Respiratory Therapy School.
 
2.     Provides classroom instruction in accordance to academic standards of Midland University.  Coordinates class schedule and curriculum development.
 
3.     Maintains required records, reports and statistics for administrative, regulatory, and budgetary purposes.
 
4.     Participates in Midland University activities involving Respiratory Care students.  Provides yearly evaluation of course curriculum and feedback to Executive Director.
 
5.     Plan and coordinate recruitment strategies for the Respiratory Therapy School.  Provides school information and site visits for perspective students.
 
6.     Maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives concerning quality assurance, safety and infection control.
 
7.     Participates and monitors the competency and educational activities of the Respiratory Therapy Department.
 
8.     Participates in all safety, security and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by the department.
 
9.     Demonstrates work practices consistent with CHI Health and department-specific safety, security and infection control policies. ','!*!QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Experience
 
Four years experience in respiratory care, with at least two years spent in a teaching position in an accredited respiratory care program is preferred.
 
Education/Licensure
 
Graduation from an approved/accredited school of Respiratory Therapy required.
BS required.
MS preferred. 
Must be a Registered as a Respiratory Therapist with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
Must have a current Respiratory Care License in Nebraska or a Respiratory Care Practitioner permit Iowa, License/ permit must be held in the state you provide services. 
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
 
Knowledge and skill in all Respiratory procedures required; self motivation; creative problem solving; strong leadership skills; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; strong project management skills; strong interpersonal communication skills; good strategic planning skills; strong change management skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
