The Assistant Director of Financial Aid for Incoming Undergraduate Students serves as the liaison between financial aid and admissions. This position responds to calls and emails from incoming prospective students and families and meets with them regarding financial aid matters. This position represents **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. on and off campus at financial aid nights at high schools and other financial aid related events such as open houses and guidance counselor events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as liaison between financial aid and admissions. Respond to incoming/prospective student and parent financial aid related calls and emails. Meet with incoming, prospective students/families regarding financial aid questions, process, and status. Update admission staff on all aspects of financial aid and keep financial aid abreast of relevant admission topics. Provide presentations on behalf of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. at Financial Aid Nights off campus, and other organized financial aid related events such as Open House, Preview and Guidance Counselor meetings. Assist with creation of content for financial aid literature and presentation. Attend all staff meetings and training for both the admission and financial aid offices.
2. Assists Financial Aid office and office of Admissions with general tasks as time permits.
3. Manage the preliminary aid packages for spring direct and fast forward admissions processes. Provide these students with counseling and guidance throughout the cycle including speaking at annual information session.
4. Manage incoming undergraduate special scholarships and financial appeals process and coordinate with Financial Aid Office.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Must have experience in higher education, preferably in the financial aid office providing financial aid counseling to students
Must have knowledge of financial aid processes and systems, Banner preferable.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must have strong public speaking skills and the ability to present in front of large groups
Must be organized, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task
Must be patient and approachable
Must have strong customer service skills and a commitment to the highest levels of service
Must have a car and a driver's license
Must be able to work weekends
Desired Qualifications:
1-2 years financial aid experience
