St Hilda’s College is seeking a part-time Outreach Officer to start as soon as possible. This post would be ideal for someone with a knowledge of secondary school teaching in the UK state-sector, and an understanding of the many challenges that face students and teachers who are from areas, as well as from groups, that are under-represented at Oxford, to play a significant role in developing and delivering current and future outreach opportunities to attract high calibre undergraduate applicants. It would be a good opportunity for an active academic, such as a Stipendiary Lecturer, to work at the heart of access and outreach activities in the College. It is therefore vital that the postholder has the aptitude for delivering innovative and high-quality activities for pupils and teachers which will draw on the postholder’s academic activities and experience. They must have the ability to inspire pupils, teachers, and all involved in applications to Oxford. 
The role includes promoting St Hilda’s College, the University of Oxford, and the higher education sector more generally to encourage applications from students regardless of background and will involve considerable travel and interaction with school pupils mostly in years 11 and 12. The postholder will need to be fully appraised of admissions policies and practices, higher education legislation and policy such as fees and bursaries. 
The appointee will be paid on a scale from £26,341 rising to £31,406 per annum pro rata (University Grade 5, current rates), depending on experience.
