(UC) College of Engineering and Applied Science seeks to hire a Professor - Educator at the Assistant or Associate rank in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME). Rank and salary will be negotiated commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.

 

Primary Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate engineering courses in the Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) programs. Areas include mechatronics, robotics, mechanical systems design, motion control, and numerical methods in an online and/or traditional classroom and laboratory setting; participate in service related activities such as advising undergraduate student project teams in areas such as Robotics and mini Baja and organizing and conducting technical workshops for individuals in the Mechanical Engineering industry. In addition, the successful candidate may participate in curriculum and course development, including distance learning classes and e-learning experiences. 

 

The Department of MME offers ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology.  The department also has graduate programs that confer Master of Science, Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Mechanical Engineering and in Materials Science and Engineering.  For more information regarding the MME Department, please see the following link: ****
 

Minimum Qualifications:  A PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required prior to the effective date of the appointment.
