We are seeking a part-time research assistant to work on an externally funded project ‘Learner conversations as models of spoken language in second language German’. This project aims to understand the types of conversations which learners of second language German wish to have, the most common conversational features of these conversations and to develop motivating conversational materials which are authentic to learners of German in the UK and which respond directly to their conversational needs. A final aim is to understand how learners and teachers evaluate these materials. The candidate will assist with data collection, recruitment of participants and transcriptions on a part-time basis for eight months. They will work closely with the project leaders but also be expected to work independently.
The post is available until 30
th
November 2022 working on a 0.2FTE basis.
