The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for the allocation and completion of assigned functions for the Surgical Instrument Techs’ daily function in the Sterile Processing Department and Surgical Supply Distribution Techs in the case cart distribution area. Oversees and supports daily operations of all activities that relate to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation, including, but not limited to decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes within all set professional standards and regulations. Other duties as assigned.','!*!Education:
Surgical Technician required.
40 hours Central Sterile Program.
Specific Sterile Processing Education:
SPD/Surgery System computer training
Medical Terminology
Outlook, Excel and Word training
Licensure or Certification:
Certification through Purdue Central Service Technician Correspondence Program or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
Manager certification preferred or ability to acquire manager certification within 12 months after hire.
Experience:
Two years’ sterile processing/surgery experience at a high volume facility required. SPD leadership experience and/or training strongly preferred.
