USI is a comprehensive institution, classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as an u201cengaged university.u201du00a0 The Romain College of Business has AACSB accreditation for Business and a separate accreditation for Accounting. The College enrolls nearly 1,150u00a0undergraduate and almost 1,100 graduate students, hasu00a047 full-time faculty members, and has an annual budget of over $7M. Administratively, the College is organized into three academic departments: Accounting & Finance, Economics & Marketing, and Management & Information Sciences. The College offers eight undergraduate majors: Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing. Students can also earnu00a0post-baccalaureate certificates in Accounting and Computer Information Systems, as well as certificates in Human Resource Management, Innovation Management, Data Analytics for Business, and Cybersecurity. The College offers a Master of Business Administration program predominantly in an acceleratedu00a0online format with concentrations in Accounting, Data Analytics, Engineering Management, General Business, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, and Project Management. The College houses and operates the User Perception, Cognition, & Interaction Lab, the Strategic Social Media Lab, the Griffin Experimental Economics Lab, the Cyber Security Operations Center, and the Center for Economic Education.u00a0 The next Dean should be committed to data-driven strategies to facilitate the success of the Collegeu2019s students and faculty, and dedicated to productive engagement with community partners. The Dean will communicate effectively, maintain a positive and collaborative culture, while bringing enthusiasm and creativity to the position. The Dean will demonstrate a commitment to balancing growth with programs that produce high-quality student outcomes, exemplary strategic and ethical leadership, and commitment to diversity and inclusion. Responsibilities of the Dean will include, but are not limited to:u00a0 Preparingu00a0graduates whou00a0can contribute effectively to todayu2019s business environment through our premier academic programs as well asu00a0experiential learning and internshipu00a0opportunities Fostering and promotingu00a0opportunities for meaningful collaborationu00a0with community partners to create developmental opportunities for studentsu00a0and to ensure that the Collegeu2019s academic programs are responsive to the needs of the business community Coordinating recruitment and retention efforts that support the Collegeu2019s strategic and sustainable growth Recruiting, retaining, and empowering faculty through an organizational culture that promotes shared governance, and fosters interdisciplinary collaborations Analyzing and responding to emerging regional, national, and global trends in higher education andu00a0business in order to craft a long-term vision for the College that is consistent with the Universityu2019s mission and strategic priorities and to increase its visibility and goals Managing an annual operating budget and securing additional resources to achieve the Collegeu2019s strategic goals Maintaining the Collegeu2019s AACSB accreditation and assisting with the Universityu2019s regional accreditation The Dean reports directly to the Provost and serves as the chief academic officer of the College. Candidates must have an earned doctorate or terminal degree with the academic qualifications and achievements consistent with an appointment as a tenured, full professor in the College. Evidence of successful administrative leadership above or equivalent to the department chair level is required.u00a0The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate mastery of and active involvement with theu00a0AACSBu00a0accreditation process.
