Sociology faculty develop curricula and teach courses that include Introductory and specialized courses in Sociology. Additional responsibilities include advising students, community outreach and college service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence that includes an ability to incorporate innovative strategies and integrate technology appropriately into their teaching. This faculty member will also engage in general college responsibilities within and outside the division. The Social and Behavioral Sciences Division values innovation, collaboration and teamwork. Applicants must be willing to teach both day & evening.
This position will start in the Fall of 2014.
Requirements:
Master's degree in sociology or closely related field (PhD preferred).
Prior teaching experience.
Education and or training in political science or political sociology.
Prior teaching experience in sociology.
Evidence of teaching excellence.
Evidence of a commitment to the Community College philosophy.
Strong communication skills.
