Reporting to the Director for Education & Faculty Affairs and with overall guidance from Executive Director for the Department of Neurology (DON), the Faculty Affairs and Education Administrator will provide support for the credentialing of clinical staff, trainee, and rotators. The Faculty Affairs and Education Administrator will provide a full range of varied and multi-skilled administrative and clerical functions related to drafting offer letters, BWH credentialing, enrollment, and on-boarding in the department of Neurology. This position is responsible for thoroughly understanding the complex policies and procedures related to credentialing, licensing, enrollment, HR onboarding, visa processes, etc. The incumbent will work collaboratively with colleagues within the Neurology department as well as departments such as the CCO, HR, the GPS, and outside institutions as BORIM and others.
The position requires a customer service and detail-oriented strong performer capable of independent judgement, consistent quality work with well-developed organizational, interpersonal and both oral and written communication skills.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists Executive Director and Division Chiefs with preparation of offer letters, responsibility grids, and employment agreements to newly recruited clinical faculty.
Assembles and presents initial appointment and reappointment paperwork to Department's senior leadership for reviewing by preparing agenda and collecting all documents needed for review.
Initiates and manages the credentialing process for all new appointments including clinical staff, and trainees
Facilitates the credentialing process for new appointments for Advance Practice Providers (APP). Coordinates with the CCO, Chief PA, and the Department leadership in the credentialing process, paperwork and start date.
Acts as the primary ****.Identifies and communicates proposed operational process improvements to increase efficiency
36.Works on special projects as determined by the Executive Director and Department Leadership
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in related field (healthcare or business administration) preferred.
1-3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in an ambulatory practice and/or academic hospital setting.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in coordinating a wide range of projects in an academic medical center setting preferred.
Superior organizational and interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within a complex academic medical center required.
Demonstrated project coordination, team facilitation, and analytic skills.
Ability to facilitate and to work within dynamic teams as well as to work independently.
Process improvement training experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Ability to effectively handle challenging situations, evaluate circumstances and make sound decisions.
Ability to work with specific timeframes to meet deadlines.
Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)

Expertise in EPIC and Microsoft Office suite and use of systems for analyzing and reporting on data.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work well under pressure; keep track of details, and follow through to completion of tasks within specific time limits.
Requires excellent judgment, tact, sensitivity and the ability to function independently in a complex academic environment.
The ability to maintain confidentiality and meet HIPAA requirements regarding patient and department-specific information
