JOB OVERVIEW
UC is one of the largest employers in the Cincinnati region, employing over 15,000 full time and part time faculty, staff and student workers. The College of Medicine, UC Cancer Center is looking for a Clinical Research Professional or Senior Clinical Research Professional. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.
This position provides support and assistance for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Cancer Center. Duties focus on providing resources to coordinate the day-to-day administrative activities of the research protocol approval process and related reporting under the direction of the Clinical Trials Office Regulatory Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Independently coordinate the Scientific Review Committee following the criteria and timelines in Committee Charter. This includes, but is not limited to: receive submissions, prepare review packets and provide to committee, set meeting agendas, attend meetings and record minutes, communicate committee decisions to investigators and CTO, maintain committee records, communicate with investigators, develop committee policies and practices in conjunction with leadership. *Serve as a liaison between UC Cancer Center Disease Teams and the Scientific Review Committee. *Coordinate the Study Operations and Administrative Review Committee; set agenda and invitees, provide committee with review materials, attend meeting and record minutes, follow up on action items following committee review, distribute minutes to appropriate research services. *Monitor accrual to open trials, identify underperforming trials and report to Scientific Review Committee, facilitate communication between committee and investigators. *Create metrics reports for leadership; regularly provide numbers on physician accrual and trial activation times, provide miscellaneous accrual and trial portfolio information to leaders upon request. *Update and maintain Committee charters. *Support Cancer Center's effort to attain NCI designation; revise grant sections based on reviewer feedback, create/revise leader's presentation slides, gather data and incorporate it into grant. *Miscellaneous tasks; assist with UCCC Clinical Trials office regulatory needs as needed; write content pieces for the Clinical Trials Office Newsletter; maintain meeting records of the Faculty Research Committees; participate in clinical trials management system initiatives affecting the Cancer Center. *Attend conferences and participate on appropriate committees relevant to the advancement of the program and the profession.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
*Bachelor's Degree must be in a related field. *Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
REQUIRED TRAININGS/CERTIFICATIONS
*For nursing focused role, BSN in the area of clinical specialization, and RN License in State of Ohio. *For social work focused role, licensure in the area of clinical specialization.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*One (1) year of related experience. *For nursing focused roles, appropriate clinical procedural experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
*Minimum 2-5 years of directly relevant experience in an academic or clinical setting. *Prior experience with committees and knowledge of clinical translational research is ideal. *Prior experience with NCI policies and procedures is ideal. *Oncology clinical research experience or working knowledge therapeutic trials is ideal. *Certifications from ACRP or SOCRA are ideal. *Experience working with FDA regulations, NCI policies and procedures, and Good Clinical Practice guidelines for the conduct of clinical research. *Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. *Proficiency with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and cloud-based applications such as OneDrive. *Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and stay organized. *Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with researchers, physicians, PIs, study sponsors and clinical research coordinators.
