An exciting opportunity is available for a driven and resilient individual to join the professional services department of the Peninsula Medical School – one of England’s top four medical schools – and proactively facilitate the development of outstanding doctors of the future. You will contribute to the delivery of customer focused, cost effective and efficient administrative support of the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) programme, as a part an expanding and enthusiastic team based across Plymouth, Torbay and Taunton. Each team member seeks to enhance the student and stakeholder experience throughout their time with the University. This role is primarily accountable for the administration of Years 3-5 of the BMBS programme. Programme administration duties will support the BMBS programme, with particular reference to curriculum delivery, assessment and front-line student service. This will include maintaining student records and assessment data; helping resolve placement and assessment issues; attending, organising and minuting meetings; updating programme documents amd providing programme data as required and effectively communicating with students, academics, clinicians and colleagues. You will provide support to the Senior Programme Co-ordinator in addition to providing support across the team. You will have experience operating effectively as a member of an administrative team within a customer service environment. A flexible and resilient attitude in an ever changing environment will be vital, alongside organisation skills, excellent IT skills (including spreadsheets and databases), the ability to proactively identify and seek resolutions to problems, and ability to work within tight deadlines. Good communication skills, team-work and data reporting are essential. Experience working in a medical or education function/environment (or equivalent) would be desirable. You will be based at the student-facing Faculty Office in the John Bull Building, Plymouth Science Park, Derriford although occasionally travel to other sites (primarily the University Main Campus) will be required.
