COORDINATOR-STERILE PROCESSING (SV HOT SPRINGS), OPERATING ROOM, FULL TIME, DAYS','Full-time','Clinical Support','DAYS','DAYS','80','80','Occasional','Occasional','ARKANSAS-HOT SPRINGS-CHI HOSPITAL HOT SPRINGS','','!*!JOB SUMMARY: To be the coordinator for the Sterile Processing Department which will include assessment of instrumentation skills, training technicians on the proper use of surgical instruments, how this instrumentation is used in surgery, decontamination, sterilization and case cart assembly. Teaches and monitors Quality Assurance protocols and assist in ensuring regulatory compliance. Assist the Manager in day to day operations of the department.

2. PROBLEM RESOLUTION
Maintains an unbiased perspective when investigating incidents that may lead to disciplinary actions
Maintains objectivity about employee performance reinforcing positive attributes rather than negatives attributes.
Assists the manager in the administration of disciplinary actions and performance improvements of employees by providing necessary investigative reports.
Follows up on problems/conflicts that have been discussed.
3. COORDINATION
Consistently implements high level of performance to achieve expected goals
Utilizes available resources to assess and anticipate departmental and interdepartmental needs.
Assist in implementing and maintaining infection control needs.
Coordinate all class and training needs for departmental and interdepartmental personnel.
4. LEADERSHIP
Collaborates with SPD manager to provide a conducive environment for employees to accomplish their work.
Assist SPD manager in the evaluation of processes and assists in the implementation of interventions, modifications and improvement of these processes.
Provides mentorship to the Team Leads and other SPD staff members.
','!*!MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School diploma, GED or Metropolitan Test or equivalent. Associate Degree preferred. Must be a Certified Sterile Processing Technician, or Certified Instrument Specialist. Certification in Hospital Leadership would be a plus. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Experience: At least five years related experience as a Central Service Technician, with at least two of those years in a progressive supervisory and or educating capacity.
Physical Requirements: This job requires, at various times, the following physical activities; climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, carrying, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, talking, and hearing, sometimes exerting in excess of 10-50 pounds of force.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform daily activities.
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to chemicals), and infectious diseases.
Skills: Knowledge of principles and methods for training design, teaching and instructing others. Knowledge of Sterile
Processing principles and processes. Knowledge of routine and specialty surgical instrumentation. Knowledge of principles
and processes for providing customer services. Ability to communicate effectively with personnel of diverse backgrounds
and education. Ability to take instrument technicians to the O.R. for education during surgical procedures to explain use of instrumentation Ability to effectively teach a Sterile Processing Certification class. Ability to interact with various hospital staff and develop effective working relationships. Skill to prioritize, organizes, and accomplishes work.
