Support the control and tracking of physical collections and shelf locations, utilizing collection guides, records, registers, spreadsheets, and databases.
Support the physical preparation of the collections for temporary offsite storage and access, including the preservation and housing/rehousing of manuscripts, university archives, and rare books.
Record housing and relocation changes in spreadsheets to ensure flat file, box, folder, and tube numbers; shelf numbers; and shelf locations are accurately represented in finding aids, bibliographic records, and archival registers.
Contribute to space preparedness and planning solutions, and collections shifts to optimize storage space.
Observe best practices handling and moving collections to ensure the integrity and security of the collections.
Support collections review, deaccessioning, and disposition decisions.
Perform other collections-related tasks and projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job related field. Two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
A master's degree in a job related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the required knowledge and abilities may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
Salary:
Anticipated Hiring Range: $19.15 - $21.07 per hour
Classification Range: $19.15 - $34.52 per hour
