JOB OVERVIEW
As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients.
The Special Master's Program (SMP) in Physiology, housed within **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. College of Medicine, is a one-year graduate-level program designed to help college graduates strengthen their academic credentials in preparation for application to US medical schools. The cornerstone of the SMP curriculum is a significant, integrated educational experience with first-year medical students (M1) at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. College of Medicine. In addition to several first-year medical-school courses, SMP students complete graduate-level courses in physiology, statistics, capstone research, and professional development. The program offers a highly mentored, experiential-learning environment.
The Special Master's Program is seeking to hire a Program Manager to work with the program's Academic Director and the College's faculty and staff to administer the program, to provide academic support, to develop new programmatic elements, and to advise students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Manage, design, develop, modify and present programs. Perform program needs assessment and make recommendations. *Implement policies and procedures. *Maintain budget, prepare contracts, approve and monitor expenditures, prepare budget requests and financial reports. *Act as liaison to internal departments, external entities and community organizations. *May prepare and edit reports and/or newsletters and develop publication materials. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). *Perform related duties based on departmental need. REQUIRED EDUCATION
*Bachelor's Degree. *Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*Three (3) years of experience in program development or business administration. *May require supervision experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
*Experience in or knowledge of the healthcare setting. *Organized and independent. *Effective communication skills. *The ideal applicant will be knowledgeable in the use of learning management systems (Canvas, Leo), student information systems, admissions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
*Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
