Primary Function/Description:

**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking applicants for the Assistant Professor of Geoscience & Agriculture position. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position, with the potential to become tenure track, located at the VU Main campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching undergraduate lecture/lab courses in primarily earth science, geospatial science, dendrology, natural resource measurements, and soil science
Teaching other courses as needed
Serving as an academic advisor and participating in related student success activities
Participating in departmental academic assessment projects
Assisting with other departmental activities which may include dual credit liaison, Earth Science Club, Science Fridays, and recruitment/retention activities
Participating in service, including serving on departmental, college, and university committees

Required Skills and Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of a Masters degree in Agriculture, Geology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Forestry, or related is required
Experience teaching majors and non-majors courses in the geosciences and agriculture/natural resources.
Experience using ARG/GIS software
Experience in tree identification, forest mensuration, and other natural resource/field experience

Physical Demands: Ability to lift equipment up to 30 pounds and lead field trips/labs in a variety of natural environments.
