ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 


Performs general diagnostic, fluoroscopic, mammography, ultrasound, echo-vascular, MRI, and computed tomography procedures as qualified.  This includes working with neonates, pediatric, adolescent , adult, and geriatric patients and adapting procedures appropriately for each age group.

Works rotational shifts with other technologists and provides general diagnostic and computed tomography procedures on call.  This includes arriving at the hospital within 20 minutes of being called.

Maintains current knowledge of equipment used in the radiology department.  Works within accepted practice standards for the institution and maintains confidential information.

Uses office/clerical equipment, maintains accurate clinical records, and has a working knowledge of all computer systems.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administration.
Interacts professionally with patient/family.  Consults other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.
Promotes effective intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships.
Interprets Imaging Services procedures and maintains hospital policies and procedures.
Cooperates in planning programs and safety and preparedness for fire and disaster.
Attends and participates on hospital committees, as appropriate.
Maintains supplies and equipment.
Promotes hospital/community relationships.
Transports equipment and patients.
Assists with training of new employees and students as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
 

BLS or ACLS
-BLS for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of
  hire.
 

Mandatory Reporter
-Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population
