Position Summary:
The House Administrator provides direction and assistance on bed utilization. This position also provides administrative decision making, as needed, for hospital staff in absence of Department Directors. A House Administrator is in the hospital seven (7) days a week, 24 hours per day.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse competency is validated by the Competency Based Orientation Model (CBO). May provide additional information related to competencies at higher levels. Maintains designated yearly competencies by unit/service. Must be ACLS certified with 6 months of employment. ','!*!Education Required:
A minimum of an Associate Degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Appropriate state licensure, specialized professional credentialing, and other formal education as needed. A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is preferred. Effective May 1, 2014, all new-hire Associate Degree Registered Nurses (new graduate and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program within two years of hire and complete an approved BSN program within five years of hire.
Previous Related Experience Required:
Registered nurses are responsible to the Vice President of Patient Care Services He/She may supervise one or more employees in a clinical or educational setting. Daily contact is with co-workers, mangers, social services, medical staff, students, clergy, patients, families, visitors, volunteers, and the general public. May have contact with other members of the Health Care Delivery team such as medical representatives, interns, externs, insurance agents, representatives of licensing/regulatory boards and physician offices.
Certifications:
BLS, KBN License.
Language:
Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.
