Teach undergraduate concert dance technique classes and lecture courses and coordinate dance events and/or direct dance company productions. Teach two or more of the following: Modern Dance, Ballet, Jazz, Dance Appreciation, Dance History. Participate in recruitment, outreach, mentoring and advising of students, committee work and service to the college and a commitment to teaching in a multicultural environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles. Excellence in teaching, creative activity and service is expected. The successful candidate will have an aptitude for working collaboratively and possess strong leadership skills.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An earned MFA in Dance and significant professional dance experience is required and significant training and practice in traditional technique is essential. Evidence of teaching excellence in modern and one other concert dance form along with evidence of choreography and administrative experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to teach a variety of studio technique courses including Modern Dance, Ballet and Jazz and ability to teach academic dance courses with writing components which could include Dance Appreciation, Intro to Dance and Dance History. Previous administrative experience coordinating dance events. Previous community college teaching experience.
