Profile

Provide academic and transfer advising for current and prospective **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. students. Provide academic and transfer advising services at the main campus (Mulford Road), Samuelson Road Center (SAML), Advanced Technology Center (ATC), and the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Downtown (RVC-D) locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Related/other duties may be assigned.
Provide information to current and prospective students regarding class selection, degree requirements, and transfer requirements.
Assist students with scheduling of classes.
Make accurate referrals to students for, but not limited to, career advising and personal counseling.
Collect data and complete reports as requested by supervisor/Dean of Advising and Retention.
Work with students in the development of educational goals and the implementation of plans to meet those goals.
Compile transfer information, course changes, and other relative internal change information and provide this information to the advising and counseling staff and students on a timely basis.
Teach Student Development classes (STU 100 Planning for Success/STU 101 Career Planning).
Lead and/or assist with Getting Started Sessions.
Conduct reading and math course visits when needed.
Lead group academic advising meetings.
Assist as needed with Student Development, Enrollment and Retention Initiatives.
Serve on **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. committees as needed.
Assist with the coordination of Private and Independent Colleges and University Day (PICU).
Assist with the coordination of State University Transfer Day.
Assist with developing and updating transfer guides.
Coordinate transfer campus visits on and off campus.
Serve as lead advisor to assigned student cohorts.
Regular attendance is expected.
Using tact and courtesy, the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.
Nights and/or weekends may be required.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution required.
Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, Educational Counseling, Adult Education, or related field is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse students, faculty, and staff is necessary.
Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.
Student academic advising experience is preferred.
Experience in post-secondary education is preferred.
Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable
