JOB OVERVIEW
The Department of Classics at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Archaeology of the Iron Age Mediterranean, with related research and teaching interests. The appointment, at the level of Assistant Professor, is to begin on August 15, 2022.

 

The Department of Classics offers BA programs in Classics and Classical Civilization, and MA and PhD programs with concentrations ranging from Greek and Latin language and literature to Greek and Roman history, Greek prehistory, and Greek and Roman archaeology. The department prides itself on providing an interdisciplinary environment that educates all its students in philology, ancient history, and archaeology. It is housed together with the Burnam Classics Library, one of the largest and best collections of resources in Classics in the world, including an important collection of Byzantine and Modern Greek resources. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Candidates will be expected to teach courses ranging from introductory undergraduate classics courses to advanced graduate seminars, and to have a continuing program of scholarly publication in their specialty areas. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide service to the department through work on departmental committees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent degree in Archaeology or related field, with evidence of completion required by July 1, 2022.
