Job Summary
The Industry and Foundation Relations Team at the University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Director of Summit Partnership Coordination. This position is a full-time, 12-month, benefited position that will support the overall acquisition and partner management strategy, as well as coordinate the development of the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit, in partnership with the Summit Steering Committee, the CU Boulder Office of Industry and Foundation Relations (IFR) team, and representatives from Right Here, Right Now, LLC and UN Human Rights.
The primary objectives are to: Use existing industry and foundation partnerships to support CU Boulder's participation in a unique and globally-focused program;
Identify and engage new industry and foundation partners using the Global Summit as an entry point to CU Boulder; and
Coordinate and host the Summit to enhance industry and foundation partner engagement and stewardship.
The position will serve from hire date through February 2023, reporting to the Managing Senior Director of Industry Relations on the IFR team.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Strategy
Support the development and implementation of fundraising strategy by actively participating in the preparation of partner opportunities to ensure these opportunities support the goals of the summit and complement the development of other fundraising opportunities within the university.
Effectively communicate the goals and substance of the summit with potential partners, cultivating and managing fundraising/partner relationships, passing leads to the appropriate IFR team member or other prospect manager as appropriate, and providing opportunities for cooperation, networking, and alliance-building.
Fundraising
Identify and analyze funding/partnership opportunities originating from CU Boulder and Right Here, Right Now partner teams and scope potential partnerships to complement and strengthen the goals, programming and outcomes.
Coordinate and track possible partners/funding opportunities from all partner team members to ensure strong transparency, coordination and follow through on the partner pipeline.
Connect summit partner opportunities to larger fundraising goals to support internal CU Boulder and larger Right Here, Right Now opportunities, with ongoing transparency and support from the Summit Partner team.
Support proposal writing and partner transactional needs, in compliance with partner and institutional requirements and in compliance with existing written agreements surrounding the Right Here, Right Now Summit.
Ensure quality proposal development requirements and institutional policy, procedures, and practices.
Partnerships, Networking and Positioning
Facilitate meetings and activities related to networking and positioning with potential summit partners. This means approaching partner prospects, coordinating meetings or events to make the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit known among the partner community and building a network of contacts for the summit partner team.
Identify key partners and networks relevant to priority pipeline opportunities for effective prepositioning with target markets (industry, NGOs, foundations, government, educational groups, etc.).
Provide weekly and monthly communications to summit partner team on the progress of the event and new fundraising partners.
Knowledge management and Information generation
Ensure that Right Here, Right Now Summit teams produce relevant information that serves the purpose of positioning the organization before donors and influencing their programming and funding decisions.
Lead the coordination of the partner pipeline and database to ensure information is shared among appropriate colleagues in a transparent and timely manner to capture new opportunities and track ongoing fundraising for the summit.
Develop and maintain a tracking system for fundraising opportunities including maintaining a repository of proposal development templates, pre-award tools, program concepts, proposal templates, pricing tables, etc.
Use the donor database to track substantive contacts and proposals.
What You Should Know
We anticipate this position will support a hybrid format (remote and in-person work). Some evenings, weekends and travel may be required.
This is a 12-month limited term position with full benefits. The position could be extended, based on a review of outcomes achieved and planned next steps.

The salary range is $80,000 - $100,000 annually.

What We Require
Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, marketing, fundraising, and/or grant acquisition and management.
Demonstrated experience managing sophisticated prospective donor discussions, submitting proposals for support, or similar activities.
Familiarity with the fundraising environment with proven knowledge of consortium's, partnerships, and related national applicable legal rules and regulations.
Experience in proposal writing, including building and monitoring budgets.
Event management experience with VIP-level attendees and speakers.
Demonstrated experience in project management and leading a team to achieve project goals.
What You Will Need
High skills in office software (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.).
High presentation and public speaking skills.
Exhibit a high degree of initiative with excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and follow-through skills in order to prioritize simultaneously in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, driven work environment.
Reliable great teammate who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment. Must also be able to work well independently, manage projects and maintain communications with various constituencies.

What We Would Like You To Have
6 or more years of experience in business development, marketing, fundraising, and/or grant acquisition and management in a nonprofit, university, or corporate environment.
