Description:
The University of Plymouth operates a mature, friendly and professional Service Desk. We are looking for a candidate with experience of providing excellent customer service and a keen interest in IT. It is NOT essential that applicants have previous experience in an IT-based role. You will have a genuine customer service ethos and understand how IT support is vital to a University with a reputation for high quality, internationally leading education, research and innovation. We have a proven track record in providing the workforce with IT that works and excellent support for when things don’t. The role will be busy, and the pace, range and volume of work will require you to maintain a professional approach and customer focus at all times; confident in dealing with people at all levels of the University with varying degrees of digital literacy, in order to provide technical support and fix issues at the first point of contact, where possible. You will gain exposure to new and well-established technology. This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Our office is based at Royal William Yard, Plymouth, but the team is currently operating a hybrid office/home-working model (some office working is required).
