Minimum Qualifications
Education Required
- Associate degree in Emergency Medical Science (EMS) or related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- North Carolina Paramedic Certification
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
Experience Required
-Relevant field experience in Emergency Medical Science (EMS).
Preferred Qualifications
Education Preferred
-Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Science (EMS) or related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
-Emergency Medical Science (EMS)-Specific Instructor certifications (Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), etc.)
-North Carolina EMS Level I Instructor
Experience Preferred
-More than one year of relevant field experience in Emergency Medical Science (EMS).
-Teaching experience in a post-secondary setting.
Position Description
The Emergency Medical Science (EMS) Lab Assistant works within the Emergency Medical Science (EMS) Curriculum program and supports program functions by providing student and faculty support during laboratory settings. It will also work to maintain program compliance with accreditation standards according to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (GTCC), American Heart Association (AHA), Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) and Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAPSE). This position reports directly to the Director of Emerency Medical Science (EMS) Programs, with oversight by the Division Chair.
