We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, well organised individual to the post of Senior Information Adviser, who will work under the direction of the Service Operations Manager and contribute to the delivery of a customer focused, cost effective and efficient library and digital support service. Based at the Charles Seale-Hayne Library at our city centre campus, and working within the Library’s content operations, you will help coordinate and support the delivery of services which provide the books, digital content and materials that form the Library’s collections, including in the following areas: Configuration and optimisation of library systems Ensuring that resources are visible on the Library’s Primo catalogue, and the University’s reading lists system Handling of electronic subscription trials, renewals or cancellations Resolving problems with access to electronic resources Support for the purchasing and provision of print and electronic resources and materials, working within financial regulations and liaising with suppliers Copyright and licencing Coordination of digital extract and inter-library loan services Sourcing alternative and accessible formats of material Gathering and formatting evidence about electronic resource usage to inform purchase and renewal decisions Monitoring internal KPIs You will provide support and training for Information Advisers, support the management of learning resources, collect and collate statistics to inform decision-making, and participate in stakeholder engagement. We are looking for someone with potential to develop into this Library role. You will need to have strong communication skills, experience of working within a team, of coordinating work across a team, of sharing skills and knowledge to develop others and/or providing training for a team, as well as the ability to work in compliance with financial regulations. You will have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with excellent IT skills, particularly working knowledge of Excel and handling large amounts of data. You will also be expected to contribute to the delivery of services in other operational areas of the Library as required. You will be able to work collaboratively with others, and have good customer service skills.
