invites applications for one (1) full-time
MSW Program Director
to begin in Fall 2022. This is a non-tenure track 12-month appointment. The successful candidate will serve a significant leadership role in the School of Social Work by overseeing both MSW program modalities (in person and online).
This appointment is 1.0 FTE with the majority of time dedicated to administration and a smaller percentage assigned to instruction. In addition to administrative leadership of the MSW Programs and instruction, the successful candidate will engage in teaching, profession-related community engagement, and service to the School, University, and profession. The successful candidate is projected to begin in this position no later than August 15, 2022.
The School of Social Work houses an innovative Master of Social Work program grounded in an advanced integrated practice model. This approach is premised on the inseparability of individual struggles and social issues such as poverty, discrimination, oppression, and social injustice. In addition to an in-person MSW program, an online MSW program option was launched Fall 2021. The goal of the online program is to increase access to education, particularly for rural and Indigenous communities.
We are looking for candidates with social work practice, teaching, and administrative experience who can advance our commitment to social, economic, and racial equity. We wish to hire candidates with demonstrated success teaching and administering programs for first-generation students and students from historically marginalized groups including Indigenous, Black, Latinx, LGBTQIA , Two-Spirit and disabled students. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to student-centered pedagogy and have program oversight experience.
Overall Program Responsibilities:
Provides curriculum oversight including but not limited to: facilitating curriculum changes, monitoring CSWE accreditation expectations and leading alignment across program modalities in coordination with MSW Online and In-person Program Leads and committees
Consults with School of Social Work Chair regarding MSW program needs, including enrollment management, resource allocation, etc.
Facilitates accreditation planning, data collection and necessary programmatic change to ensure compliance with CSWE Education and Planning Competencies.
Oversees the policies governing the MSW program to ensure compliance with national accreditation standards, policies of the School of Social Work and the University as a whole.
Facilitates MSW oversight committee and provides leadership to both in-person and online programs
Creates policies and procedures as needed to ensure necessary infrastructure exists to implement both program modalities
Oversees academic advising system
Works closely with the Director of Field Education, Advisors, and/or other administrative personnel on behalf of MSW students who need special assistance in order to successfully complete program requirements
Collaborates with online program management partner to ensure successful implementation of online programming
Collaborates with the Graduate School on admissions processes, scholarships, and other mandates.
Represents the School in a variety of forums at the university, state, and national level.
Networks with other MSW Program Directors to help promote program and learn about programs.
Works to ensure website and all MSW publications are up to date and accurate.

Position Details
Full-time, 1.0 FTE Faculty (non-tenure), Fiscal year (12 month contract), includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package

Salary of $75,000 per year commensurate with qualifications
Required Qualifications
Master of Social Work (MSW)
Practice with diverse individuals, groups, and/or communities
Three (3) years practice and teaching experience
Experience in program oversite and development
Experience leading teams
Ability to teach MSW in person and online courses
Commitment to quality teaching and promoting an inclusive educational environment that affirms the value of diversity
Possess a thorough ability to communicate with a wide variety of people in a professional manner, both orally, electronically, and through written word
Preferred Qualifications
Practice with Indigenous communities
D. in Social Work or related field
Knowledge of the “integrated practice” model
Experience teaching at the college level
Possesses exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
